AT SWANK: BABOOM COUTURE, BELLES PARISIENNES, CH'S, INDULGE TEMPTATION, MODERN COUTURE, CAL MOTORS, POSESION

Today, I have several items to share with you from the fantastic designers at Swank's Spring Celebration round which continues through the end of the month.

First, I am wearing the lovely Fiona Dress in black and white from Baboom Couture. This is an original mesh creation from Baboom Couture. The Fiona also is available in black and gold, black and rose, and white and rose. This original creation comes in six mesh sizes.

My pose is from Posesion's exclusive Adelin set for this round, the Adelin 2.

Stebi is wearing the dashing Costume Graphic suit from Belles Parisiennes, which comes in the standard five sizes. This suit comes with a texture-change HUD, too, with choices of black or white shirt and five Classic and Original tie colors as well as five Crazy Touch tie colors. You can see the HUD for these options here.

The fantastic chopper is from Cal Motors. I love animal prints, and just look how that zebra seat fits in with the sleek lines of the chopper! This is a beautiful piece of work.

Here, you can see the Costume Graphic suit and Fiona dress in closer detail. This pose is Posesion's exclusive Adeline 1. I really do feel like a flapper, and why not?! This is a very fun ensemble!

Modern Couture is offering a lovely headpiece for this round of Swank, the Empress Headpiece. There are three metal options to purchase individually: gold, silver, and black. I am wearing the silver metal.

The wonderfully matching necklace is from Indulge Temptation. The Boon necklace, as always with Indulge Temptation creations, comes with a texture-change HUD. The pose is Adelin 9.

This Briana Pastel set is the companion to the Briana set, but with lighter colors. It comes as a complete set, including the necklace, three earring, two bracelets, and two rings. As always, Moondance offers a very generous palette of texture-change options, with eight metal colors, ten gem colors, and ten pearl colors. My texture choices for this set are platinum for the metal, lavender for gem 1, citrine for gem 2, and purple for the pearls.

Another very nice feature for the set is that you can change the texture of all jewelry pieces at once or by selecting any particular piece to change as you desire. !MUSA! AT FANTASY FAIRE

Yes, finally, the Fantasy Faire is here, much to the delight of everyone that has been waiting with held breath and about ready to pass out with anticipation, myself included!

I am delighted to share with you the new Fei makeup and Seraph jewelry by !Musa! that you will find at the Fantasy Faire. The jewelry is Seraph, a charming winged creation with a little surprise--the wings move from time to time! This is a finely crafted and detailed jewelry that comes with a texture-change HUD for the main stones in the necklace and earrings, as well as options for four other gem sets in the design so you can mix and match with many color combinations. You can buy the pieces in dark metal, gold metal, or the special silver metal that is in the official Relay for Life vendor. The pieces are available for individual sale, so you can buy as you desire.

Here is a closer look at the Seraph jewelry set and special RFL Fei makeup. I am wearing the dark metal Seraph set with the short version of the necklace, and there is a long version, as well. I chose a blue stone and blue gems for all the gem parts.

This is the HUD with the main stone options and the options for the four other jewel parts, coming to a total of nine total stone colors and sixteen gem colors for the four separate parts.

AT SWANK: PURPLEMOON, LUXE PARIS FOR MEN, LUNA BODY ART, ZURI JEWELRY, SEMI-PRECIOUS

I am continually amazed at the fantastic talent of the designers!

Swank is still running strong until the end of the month, showcasing these incredible talents.

Today, I have the Tender Bloom Dress from Purplemoon, the Luxe Paris Aristo men's outfit, the Cool One nail polish from Luna Body Art, the Orchid jewelry set in tangerine and gold from Zuri Jewelry, and the Lily Necklace from Semi-Precious.

Ladies always go first, so I am going to start with the lovely confection from Purplemoon, the Tender Bloom Dress. This is such a fitting name for this flowered creation, a mini-dress adorned with darker flower tracings and a cute little sheer chiffon jacket, also with a flower pattern, that has a matching belt. The dress is available in rose, grey, white, black, lilac, beige, yellow, and peach, which I am wearing today. You can also buy the fatpack with all the colors for an amazing price.

This pose is the Adelin 5 from the exclusive Adelin set from Posesion Poses, who always have outstanding poses for all posing needs.

Below is a closer look at the flower pattern on the dress and jacket.

I think Zuri has surpassed herself with this beautiful Orchid jewelry set in tangerine and gold. I think this is the most lovely and beautiful in the series, with the warm orange tones. Note the absolutely amazing floral detail in the Breath of Spring Jeweled Tiara. There is also an Orchid Dreams exclusive set at Swank, as well, that is a pink ensemble. All the pieces of all the sets can be purchased separately.

The Cool One nail polish from Luna Body Art really matches the dress and jewelry ensemble, as you can see here. I have mixed and matched the polishes for a creative touch.

Here is a look at the back of the of the Orchid set, showing the exquisite detail Zuri puts into every single piece and aspect of her designs. You can see that the backs of the earrings are as detailed and finished as the fronts. Also, don't miss the sweet bow at the clasp of the necklace, the ultimate finishing touch.

Now, let's get to the Luxe Paris men's Aristo outfit, which comes with a denim vest and jeans, latte shirt, plus matching sneakers, which I think are pretty fancy! There also is an optional matching plaid tie that offers a perfect accent to the outfit. Stebi has chosen to wear the tie. The outfit is compatible with standard bodies and Slink mesh bodies.

He also is wearing the Semi-Precious Lily necklace, which has been colored to match the outfit using the amazing HUD that Semi-Precious always provides. In the fat pack, there are an amazing twenty-four bead options for both the center bead and the smaller, surrounding beads. Great match for the outfit!

The Lily set really was designed with women in mind and comes with earrings and bracelets, but the necklace really works well for men, too, as you can see below.

LUNA BODY ART AT THE INSTRUMENTS

Another round of The Instruments just opened up, with the theme "Urban Code," and Luna Body Art has another fun, forte, and, may I say, racy, set of nails for us, the Urban set for Slink hands and feet. These bold polishes will compliment all the styles in your wardrobe while adding an extra dash of unique excitement.

Here, I am wearing the black/grey/white checkered set.

As usual, Luna Body Art has included ten different polishes in the Slink HUD, ranging from solid black to a purple-and-green check pattern. Here, you can see eight of the different designs available with the HUD.

VISIONAIRE HOMEWORK, CLASS 3

Three weeks, now, and I have learned far more than I could have imagined!

This week, the lesson was about the Phototools Depth of Field and Glow settings. Our assignment was to take a photo using a technique or concept we learned in the class. Last week, the critique Koko had for my photo was that it might look a little better if the fire and beach were a little more blurry (you have to understand, in landscapes, I mostly like everything to be razor sharp!) so I decided to go back to the same location and duplicate the picture with some blur in the fire and beach.

I adjusted, adjusted some more, and readjusted the Phototool sliders until I had achieved what I considered to be a pleasingly blurry look. I saved the picture, went to my computer to look at it, and was completely dismayed! Oh, NO! What?!  Lol. What I saw was a completely clear picture, no discernible blur at all!

Very luckily, Wren was on Second Life and I could ask her what had happened. She explained that it was because of my good computer, which took it upon itself to make a very clear image. I paid 4,000.00 to have a super fast and powerful computer made, and NOW it is giving me trouble!  Lol. The remedy for the problem? Go back into SL and adjust, adjust, adjust until I saw on my computer the look I wanted to have in my photo.

I am sure all this gets easier and quicker with practice. I think this is akin to learning how to ride a bicycle.  Lol.

So, here are the settings I used to get this week's homework:

Preferences settings (I kept the particles because I wanted the roaring fire to be included as part of the photo, and for Hardware Settings, I had anti-aliasing set at 16x):

The Windlight Settings:

The Edit Sky Preset, with the sun rising very nearly in the west:

The Light settings (I wanted to keep Local Lights, because I wanted to keep the firelight):

And, the Depth of Field and Glow settings:

So, I decided to take a simple, quick screen capture of the view I had in Second Life, the view I had to have in order to achieve the desired look in the actual photo on my computer. It is amazingly out of focus! This is it:

And here is what that very same view looked like on my computer, giving me the photo I decided to use for class. This is a RAW shot with some crop:

And, just for fun, here is the similar photo I used for class 2, without any blur at all. In comparing the two, the fire and beach are more blurry, as well as the trees behind the sail, and certainly the sea, sky, and horizon. For what I was trying to attain, I am pleased with the overall effect.

LUNA BODY ART AT THE COLLECTORS

Luna Body Art has created another unique and fun set of nails for the newly-created bi-monthly event, The Collectors. You can find exclusive creations at this event, so it is a definite go-to.

When I saw the Slink nails Luna had created for this event, with their bold designs, I immediately knew there was a perfect gown for one of the sets, and that gown is the New Dawn on Fire gown from Purplemoon.

Here, you can see how well the nails match the gown. Not only do they match perfectly in color but in the color combinations, as well.

Here is a closer look at the nails so you can see more clearly the patterns and colors I chose for the gown.

Of course, Luna doesn't give just one set of nails, there are many choices. Here, I have made a nice arrangement with four of the nail polish choices available on the Metalika HUD for Slink nails.

And, again, another group, with four more of the polishes available.

There is only one option I didn't use above, since it was similar to the one I chose for the gown, and that is the one you can see in the upper right row in this picture of the Metalika HUD.

There are many fine creations at The Collectors event, lasting until April 15, but you certainly don't want to miss Luna Body Art's really unique and bold offering.
